The Childhood Monster Bunny ...
When I posted a few days ago Rick Owens´s "Monster Bunny"
I remembered another "monster bunny" of my childhood.
My sister and I had this
record for children with high educational value called "Hase Cäsar" (Bunny Cesar) and we sang along
one of the most embarrassing songs called
" Ich wünschte mir, ich wär ein Hund"
(I wish I would be a dog) ...
... hope I´ve never sung this outside the house ;)
Other "high educational" songs on this record:
Mietzekatz und Spatz -Pussycat and sparrow
Klatsch-Lied- Clapping song
Warum sagt man Unkraut zu der Butterblume? - Why do you say weed to buttercups?
Wir haben ein Gespenst im Haus - We have a ghost in the house (and to give you an idea about the second line: and it takes daddy´s shoes off ???? ;))) )
What about your children´s records?
P.S.:
I asked my sister yesterday about this song ... she failed miserably and started singing
" I wish I would be a CHICKEN" ...
(little excuse: "Hund" for dog and "Huhn" for chicken
are almost the same words in German but 2 different animals: little sister ... it was NO CHICKEN!!! ;)
... but we cried laughing....
Happy weekend to you all!

Oh, thanks for all your charming comments!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey made me a little bit speechless ;)
Just as an update: Also had to ask today my brother if he remembers the song... yes he did... but he also "wanted to be a chicken instead of a dog" ;)
I love that little monster! So fun. I feel like the cartoons/toys of this generation are not as kooky and charming as the older ones...
ReplyDeleteMartina,
ReplyDeleteThis post is so cute! I like your message at the end "enjoy the little things in life".
To be honest, i can't remember any kids songs...all i remember is the nursery rhymes such as "Mary had a little lamb" :)
Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the run with your new trainers!
Hugs and kisses

times change quickly...:P
ReplyDeletekisses
Oh, I can't believe I missed this post. I never listened to this, although it sounds hilarious. The furthest I got was Bibi Blocksberg and Benjamin Bluemchen, which basically is pretty normal for a child (except that as children my friends and I would run around trying to make up magic spells and caling our brooms 'Kartoffelbrei').
