H&M Hair Cuff

FINALLY ! I first saw this golden hair cuff from H&M a few months ago at "5 inch up" and loved it so much in Sandra´s hair. Unfortunately it was impossible to find at H&M, guess they had here in my hometown no idea which hair cuff I was talking about. Finally found it on ebay, proportional to its original price of 3.95 € it´s the most expensive piece I´ve bought so far.

Still have to pack for a little weekend trip to Paris with my mom and sis. Heard it´s raining in Paris tomorrow... and I have sunnies on my wishlist. Happy Weekend you all.

I can´t get this Dries van Noten dress out of my head. Love it since I saw it in the brownsfashion facebook column "from showroom to shopfloor"; the prints (city lights, a beautiful landscape and a green sea print at hips) are a work of photographer James Reeve. It´s made of cotton and looks so easy to wear and I truly love the little front pockets.

The Marni Outlet in Milan is one of my favourite places to shop although it´s sometimes difficult to find especially shoes in my size. It seems that my size is in the sales ALWAYS sold out at Marni. Last time when I was here at the end of October they had an amazing Dankalia fur jacket, surprisingly this beautiful jacket was still available and even better it sold now for another 30% or 40% off. Tried also some sunnies for fun, maybe I´ll go with some Celine Audrey´s?

ROAR. I´m so excited to show you this lion necklace. About 4 months ago I came across a picture of a Hanna Bernhard lion necklace I took last year in her studio. Unfortunately Nathalie let me know it was no longer available and already sold. Asking her if she could make another one, Nathalie said yes, asked me about my favourite colors and what kind of chain I love and from that point I was so very excited to see my lion. Perfect in time for christmas a package arrived from Paris; it found a place under the christmas tree to open it on christmas eve. Can´t wait to wear it and to show it to you with an outfit. I know, I know... you asked I should do more outfit posts :) Here´s a quick iphone snap before I was leaving. Wearing an old Prada dress (I guess it´s from Prada´s 2001 or 2002 collection) for christmas dinner with the family. It´s the first christmas without my cat, miss him especially these days. Lots of people asked me if I got in the meantime a new cat, I believe I received this question already the day after he passed away. I know that someday I´ll be ready for having another cat to hug and call my "little soul" but right now it feels like being unfaithful. You will probably smile now but yesterday three of our neighbours cats were standing at the back door.
We are celebrating today the Second Christmas Day with the family and more christmas cakes, coffee, chit chat and christmas dinner. And I´m somehow sure Dad will tell us our christmas tree looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

I still remember how proud I was to call them mine that I barely wore them. Nowadays I have to say: although I LOVE the 2-tone-color, the bracelet details and the Camelia flower these boots are so difficult to pair with the rest of my wardrobe. So far I just have the idea to wear them with black tights and a YSL gypsy skirt.. bravissimo :)

Discovered today some butter nail polishes at the reopened perfumery Schnitzler in Düsseldorf. So glad butter London nail polishes are finally available here: a flawless base, a little bottle of lacquer remover and some supercute red (# Chancer) and pale pink (# Rosie Lee) glitter nail polishes. I was looking for a pair of Comme des Garcons shoes for such a long time but was never sure about the strange shoe sizes until I met Tien from Chicago who knows CDG/ Junya/ Tao so very well. Tien started collecting pieces since 1999, how amazing is that ..She has such an amazing archive of clothes and it was so wonderful to share with her all the enthusiasms. I received these studded brogues yesterday in the mail and I´m so in love with them. They are so comfortable to walk in, the leather so soft, Tien promised the size will be perfect and it is ;) ... and I love the fact they are laceless.

Wearing my Chloe red studded SUSAN booties today. One of my favourite shoes in my closet although I don´t wear these ankle boots very often but I´m so happy to have them. Got my hands on them a few years ago at brownsfashion, like the Isabel Marant Dicker boots they are so comfortable, the leather is so unbelievable soft and I LOVE of course all the gold studded details.

I did some interior shopping yesterday in the Netherlands. As the Netherlands are just about 1.5 hours away from were I live, I love crossing the border for some interior shopping and ending up in a small cozy café for lunch before heading back home. The vase in the picture above is still in my head, such a huge vase with beautiful flower details...maybe I should go back .. I found the most amazing wood trays with vintage intarsias. I heard so many great reviews about Dolce & Gabbana´s new creamy foundation. So far I used Giorgio Armani´s Lasting Silk UV Foundation which I truly love but want to give "The Perfect Finish Creamy Foundation" a try. What foundation do you use? I purchased it with the matching foundation brush, not a fan of these brushes but the woman at the Dolce & Gabbana counter highly recommend to use a brush for the foundation.

Gucci Museo, Florence

The Gucci Museo in Florence opened it doors at the end of September 2011 in a beautiful fourteenth -century Palazzo right next door to Palazzo Vecchio. I loved the idea of getting a little Gucci card box and collecting during the walk through the three-story space (the museum is arranged in themes) all theme-cards to fill into my "Gucci Museo Box" to take home. I don´t know what I expected exactly but at the end it was a little bit disappointing to see just a little bit of a brand who is marking its 90th anniversary (just 4 evening dresses are shown in one space). When you visit Florence and wish to pay a visit to the Gucci Museo I would recommend to take the elevator for going upstairs and taking the stairs down as the stairways are filled with amazing b/w pictures. After finishing your tour you can visit the bookstore or the Gucci Museo Caffee which is open also in the late evening hours.

I love Tuscany especially it´s capital Florence. The landscape is simply gorgeous and no matter how long or short you stay you feel laid-back so easily. Florence is such a beautiful Italian Renaissance city where you can not only visit famous museums like the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace (and tara...the new Gucci Museo-will do another post about it), Florence has also some lovely places for shopping and dining which makes it a perfect place to be.

Most of the time on my what-I-wish-to-do-list when I´m in Milan is to pay a visit to the Marni Outlet. Although the stock was this time a litte bit disappointing I felt head over heels in love with this gorgeous printed Dankalia fur jacket.

I receive always questions about my Lanvin vintage jewelry collection, whether I wish to sell them or if I can give any advises on buying. I´m sorry that I do not keep updating my vintage blog about the pieces! I started my Lanvin vintage collection a few years ago just by chance when I saw a picture of Keira Knightley wearing a beautiful green pendant. While I was always searching on ebay for Lanvin dresses from 2003 I remembered that I saw this necklace just a few days before on ebay. The auction ended for around $150, I was so upset of missing the end of the auction. From that day it was my "Keira" necklace and I hoped so much it would appear on ebay back soon.

The "Keira" necklace is the one I love the most. Although the green pendant is the most famous it´s part of a 3-pendant set which originally came along with a red Lanvin bijoux box.

The box include also two other pendants, most of the sets have a brown and red pendant, some also include a white pendant.

In case you search for this complete set or just for one pendant, I would recommend to ask the seller about the condition of the interchangeable pendant as you have to rotate the gold screw. Due to the age of the necklaces the tightened screws of some pendants seem to be worn out. As a result you will lose the pendant while wearing.

Prices for the whole set incl. the original red Lanvin box range from $1500-$3000 on ebay.

The necklace is also featured in Rachel Zoe´s "Style A to Zoe" book.

More features

If I would do a ranking of Lanvin vintage necklaces the following necklace would be my number two.

I call it the "orb necklace", Rachel Zoe was the first I recognized wearing it.

The necklace is actually a two-tone necklace in gold and silver but it appeared on ebay also just in silver.

The price range of this necklace is from $400-$800.

The following Lanvin vintage necklace is also an ebay find. I was so in love with the green pendant of the Keira-necklace and so searched for more Lanvin necklaces with green pendants. Happily found it a few months later. I wish I would remember how much I paid for it, from my experience you currently have to calculate around $200 - $1000 for any kind of Lanvin vintage necklaces on ebay.

As you can see the Lanvin snake chains have 2 types of clasps. The chain for this pendant has, beside the different clasp, the same length and style as the Keira necklace

Beside the necklaces you can also find some amazing bold bracelets.

This gold vintage bracelet has an oversize chunky turquoise lucite stone.

I had to buy this Paris grocery bag before heading back home.

Such a cute bag and I paid just 6 Euro for it.

Will use it to recycle plastic bottles at the supermarket.

I got the strawberry grocery bag from Anya Hindmarch a few years ago at luisaviaroma. She designed it as a limited bag for the Florence located store.
Spent about 30 Euro for it, washed it already numerous of times and it holds so many things.

One of my largest grocery bags come from Antonioli in Milan,

these black cotton bags come to your home in different sizes and the best they are for free as they are included with your order.

It´s such a long time ago since I have bought my last bag. I was looking for a practical bag in black which can be worn as a cross body bag. Getting a black bag is still a drama as I always come out of the store with anything but black. Same in Paris when I took this navy blue bag back home but navy blue looks so close to black.

I love Lanvin´s Amalia collection, actually felt in love with a cross body bag they currently sell online but when I was in the store I was smitten with the larger size which can be styled in different ways. The leather is so soft and I love the touch of Chanel referring to the quilted leather stitching. The gold chain with the black ribbon can be worn shorter as a double chain and there is this cute little embossed Lanvin metal plaque.

When it comes to cat prints ..
Last year I was completely obsessed with these Miu Miu cat clogs and took them with me to Paris last October when I met Hanh, Judy and Jane (who took the picture). Time flies so fast.. can´t believe it´s close to a year since we have met! Miss you ladies :-)

My Charlotte Olympia "Kitty" shoes arrived a few days ago. My first pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes, ordered them from her website, they have such a great customer service and shipped so fast. The heels actually look very high but I was so surprised how comfortable they are.

Wedding Bells

Yesterday I was invited to a friends wedding at a beautiful 11th century manor.

The weather was so amazing, like a late summer day in September.

Long decision what to wear but I finally went with a long Lanvin dress.

Feeling so tired this sunday, just a few hours sleep and new week starts tomorrow.

I love ebay as a place to look out for some accessoires from older collections. This Chloé silver bib necklace from spring/summer´03, when Phoebe Philo was still the designer for the french brand, was one of the pieces I was looking for such a long time; was so delighted when a seller from Kuwait listed it a few weeks ago. She was amazing and sent it to me just in 2 days.
